Replacing Temperature gauge on M

I'm waiting for my manual to arrive and checking out the little things that need fixing on my M. The temperature gauge is busted (as in the glass is broke and the gauge is physically broken) and I think it would be good to fix that asap. There are a couple temperature gauges on ebay right now so I was going to bid on one. How much work will it take to replace it? Thanks, Nathan
