Mitch: Maybe he just enjoys plowing snow, thus having to move it several times, gives him great pleasure. I'm thinking that 7840 is likely 4x4, he probably doesn't need as much space for the next snowfall as we guys with two wheel drive and under 50 hp.

Up in this area from London on down to Sarnia the Dutch don't even plow their snow. To much fun getting their wooden shoes full of snow, pushin, pullin and towing vehicles. Maybe they think it keeps salesmen, bureaucrats, and other annoying people away.

In the town of Strathroy, and I'm not sure this is accurate, but they claim population of around 13,000 is 1/3 Portuguese, 1/3 Dutch and the other 1/3 a mix of mostly British that came here 100-250 years ago. It is claimed you can tell from which group a resident comes by his or her snow removal. The Portuguse take snow removal to the point manicuring the property, the old group from Britain are average always plowed out but nothing fussy, while the Dutch plow it with the Cadilac deVille or wife's mini van. When it comes to summer and things green and growing it all reverses. The Dutch are the one's that get particular. This is not my opinion, I wont argue with it, but the opinion belongs to a long time resident.

So much for habits in mid western Ontario, now if the Dutch establishment don't send two guys in a black Lincoln, with tinted glass, over the Wooden shoes joke, we may get to meet up with you at some farm show somewhere this summer. Just kidding of course, Dutch actually take that one quite well, but they are quick to point out copper wire was invented by two Scotsmen fighting over a penny. With you Mitch, they will just use the Wooden shoes, in fact your mother should dig out a pair for you to wear to school tomorrow.
