Well if ya got everthing unbolted and the t/a flywheel out then it should dran near fall out and i would never put a stright shaft in a farmall that had a t/a as everybody complains aboth a t/a just watch the resale price go down the tubes with out one . I bought a 856 that never had a t/a and nobody wanted it thought that i would have to use it for a tombstone on my grave ended up getting a center section and installing a complet t/a in it, another tuition payment in buying and selling . Now that you have apart ya might as well freshen everything up because ya don't want to have to go back in and do this again in six months unless ya need the pratices. And when going back together get youself some .0015 shim stock and wrap the seal surface as to make a cone for the big seal and make sure that ya don't cause it to roll it can be done witha tin feller gauge but ya got to be extra careful not to cut it . And also make sure that you get the T/A clutch flywheel nut tight and the lock tabs set I have the wrench for this but you can use a long thin punch , i have seen tomany of those nuts back off.
