Sounds like you are on a guilt trip for someone elses neglect. It isnt your moral responsibility to rescue and restore that tractor at ALL or ANY cost. You didnt let it sit and rot, someone else did, and because of that he allowed the tractor to devalue. If he would as CNKS said sell it to you at junk price, which it is junk, it just isnt in a fence row, but rather closer to the road, then it may be something for you to consider. Still, you will have a lot of green invested to bring it back to red standards. As to the
WFE alone, you already said that it had been welded on, which makes it worth about $200. This guy will probablly hold out for his firm price until he is recalled by his maker, rather than part with it at fair market price. At that time, his widow will have an auction sale, and then it will be sold for what its worth.
