You don"t say whether or not it was running before you rebuilt it. That would certainly be a place to start for those giving advice. That having been said-I have an F-12 that I rebuilt that was not running before I worked on it. I started it with great difficulty a couple of times afterward until one day it finally would not start at all. I was somewhat distraught, blaming myself for all sorts of imaginary mistakes that I imagined I might have made. In the end I bit the bullet and sent in my magneto for a rebuild. (for some reason I can"t define I was hesistant at first to do so) When I got it back and put it on, I think I got it to start on the first pull once it had been primed, and it still starts with ease.

I may take some flack for this story, but one time after that I uncovered it and got was getting it ready to start. My little boy gleefully began playing on it. I had gone down stairs to put a few things away and came back outside. Upon my return--Son nowhere in sight, one less thing to worry about. Time to start her up! I proceeded set the levers and crank. It started once again all right on the first pull, and to my astonishment began to roll forward at me and out of the garage. My young son had left it in gear much to my surprise. Nothing bad ensued to me or the tractor but it reenforced in my mind both the neccessity of double checking such things and the fact that after the magneto had been rebuilt it started with such ease that it even started while in gear with a simple half pull on the crank.

If you"re having a that much trouble with it, my advice is to get your magneto rebuilt. I dealt with Mainely Magneetos in Maine and would certainly recommend his work to anyone. His number is 207834 7309.
