Try getting some heavier cables with exact length that's needed. Welding suppliers have heavy cables and where truck tractors supplies are sold too. Replace cable from battery to starter and the ground cable too. Those diesels draw a lot of current when cranking and will improve the cranking speed with the heavier cables.
