Replaced the lucas starter on my 385 with a delco.cranks way faster and starts easily.

If the heavier battery cables doesn't solve the cranking problem find a shop that rebuilds starters, generators and altenators. Call around and find a shop that can load test that Bosch starter. It would help your starting by installing a block heater to preheat the engine
this would require less starting amperage. Try
Phillips & Temro at 1-800-328-6108 for a heater.
They can give you a distrbutor in your area. Hal

Try getting some heavier cables with exact length
that's needed. Welding suppliers have heavy
cables and where truck tractors supplies are sold too. Replace cable from battery to starter and the ground cable too. Those diesels draw a lot of current when cranking and will improve the cranking speed with the heavier cables.
