If you take it apart and inspect closely it may be obvious why it is leaking. Hose may be wrong sized or damaged. Sometimes the snout where the hose slips on is badly corroded, pitted or otherwise damaged. The clamps may be the problem. A decent stainless worm screw clamp should work. If snout is damaged or corroded use a sealer such as a gasket maker or even a PTFE pipe paste compound. Or silly cone will work as suggested below. If the snout is in good shape just a lubricant such as soapy water or a little antifreeze will help things settle in as opposed to assembling it dry.
