I hear ya on that! Dad has got a 70 or 71 IH 856. Has the DT407 at 7500 hours, (2500 on rebuild) Purrs like a kitten, roars like a lion, and yes, pulls a 24 ft Field cultivator in decent ground in hi 1st. Ran for years with that set up. I do still remember the day he hooked that up to the 856,, I said, I dont think so!! Well he proved me wrong!! I would have to say that pulling is a motorsport. Ehh, when I go pulling, I got nothing to prove to anyone, only to myself in what I know my tractor is capable of, and set it up, to do the work, I redesigned the tractor to perform. Balance, strategy, competition, hard work, equals bragging rights. Its not a money sport, belive me, I know,, LOL!! Yeah, the 24 ft field cultivator is a good example,, here is mine,, My 40 Farmall H pulling 6500lbs, in 3rd gear, and out pulling 9 other tractors,, winning the class, against some MM U's, Super M's Ih 450's Jd 70s, JDG thats just a short list of what it out pulled by 30 ft, in the 6500lb modified class. I was 20 when I did that,, I still am floatin in the clouds on that one,,, Have a good day! ChadS
