After rereading your post, I really did not mean to insult your 8N. Those tractors do have their place. Drove one for several summers as a kid, mostly cultivation, the 8N is not a good cultivating tractor. I used the 2020 for light tillage operations (12 ft springtooth, etc), and planting. Handles a mounted 4-row planter with ease, with weights on the front. Hydraulics are good. Has a 4 speed hi-low transmission, meaning 8 forward and 4 reverse--it should have been set up with fewer reverse gears. The 2 lever shift mechanism is a little clutzy, and is not syncromesh, but there is a speed for about any operation. Power is adequate for its intended purpose. Very easy to handle. Live hyd, pto and good brakes. I have also driven an IH 444, the 2020 was probably a better tractor, but not really a fair comparison because the 2020 is bigger. I grew up with Farmalls, own 6 Farmalls and 1 International, no JD's, nor do I want one. But, JD's new generation tractors, and IH's management problems (too slow to bring out new models) is what ultimately killed IH.

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
