Boom mowers and vegetation management

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if farmers do purchase roadside vegetation management machines, like shoulder mowers or boom mowers, hedge cutters and things like that. Shouldn't it be better to do cooperative shopping on such items since they are rarely used and could be used by more than one farm. I am not a famer but i have a paper to write on it so I'd greatly appreciate your help on anything linked to boom or shoulder mowers. Many Thanks in advance
