DANGED D236 IH Diesel STILL won't start!

The previous owner of my Hough 30B Payloader delivered the parts manuals yesterday, and armed with that and the advice I got here, I started working on the old girl again.

I added a pint of Diesel fuel conditioner and a pint of isopropal dry gas to the tank, drained a bit out of the bottom of the filters, topped them back off and bled the entire system all the way to the injectors. I had oil at each cylinder. (All this time, the twin heavy duty batteries were charging)

I held the glow plug switch down for a slow count of 30, and hit the starter and got - - nothing. It turns over nice, but the first time, it didn't even try to start. I tried the glow plugs several more times, working up to a slow count of 90 seconds. THAT time, it tried to fire on one cylinder.

I had also plugged in the tank heater before I began, and as the engine warmed up (It was 50 degrees outside temp) it consistently tried to run on 1 cylinder.

My specific questions are -

Is it possible to flood a diesel? (and what would I do about it if it is?)

How do you time a diesel, and could that be my problem?

Is it possible to take the injector pump apart myself and clean it, or are they too complicated for a mere mortal without an exploded diagram to mess with?

It's a Roosa Master injector pump. Any idea how much it would cost to send it out for a rebuild?

There IS a wire that extends from a lever on the outside of the pump to a handle in the cab. (Seperate from the throttle linkage) What might that be and what should I do with it while trying to start it?

I appreciate any and All advice I get!
