I was cleaning up my M after taking the radiator off for repair and I noticed on the virtical steering shaft" upper bolster pivot shaft" there is a keyway down towards the bolster that faces the rear of the tractor. what is that used for and does it have anything to do with the rectangular insert in the grill? also, it has loader and live hydralics but this pump leaks. is it possible to put a new pump in the belly and run it off of the shaft the old belly pump did? i know it will not be live any more but just a thought. it has a wide front end and i notice the bolster shaft will raise about 1 inch when i turn to the right ( i think it was) and will drop back down when turned the other way. could that just be the upper bolster bushing is worn? thanks for your thoughts
