Hi, the 454,464,574,674 all have the same rear end and after many years they do rattle in neutral especially if it is in 4th gear. The other thing is as the Hi/Lo/Rev Neutral lever shifter mechanism wears, it no longer stays in the neutral position and creeps down to the LO position. To stop the rattle lift the Hi/Lo/Rev lever up a little towards the Rev position and the rattle should stop. Just be carefull jumping off these tractors with loose clothing that can catch the HI/LO/REV and pull in it to LO range. This happen to my Dad once, but luckly he was able to hit the STOP lever. My 2 cents JB
