I have an 1110 mower. Mine only has the one cylinder - to lift the bar and head in one motion. The extra cylinder underneath is so that you can raise the head (wobble box) so it doesn't catch or drag on things - such as if you were mowing along a curb but the tractor was on the street you could raise the inner portion of the bar separately.
