First I want to humbly say that I realize I am not the only one who suffered severe storm damage, folks in Illinois and Indiana lost homes, farms, businesses...but I did promise to update you , my friends here on YT. We have all the machinery outside, all the buildings shoved into heaps and burned, most of the steel picked up and trucked to recyclers. Today we cleared the last field of debris, mostly wood, rafters, sheeting, etc. I will have a few loads to go to the dump and then there will be only foundations where my two sheds once stood. I am trying to contact some menonnite builders who specialize in barn construction and hope to have the roof on by haying time. The beams are all inplace but the rafters are gone, not a job most roofers are interested in. I never thought we would have it cleaned up in a week. Two of my neighbours have been there every minute that I have, a couple of days we had six helpers, thank God for good neighbours. The house roof will be done starting Monday, a slate roof that takes skilled workers to do. I haven't yet started working on any tractors or machinery. I am getting my local dealer to take the 584 away and fix, I may get them to do the same with the H and the M. The farm looks a little messy with machinery helter skelter and a couple of piles of steel roof sheets, but we have come a long way, the destruction is over and construction should soon begin. I don't anticipate another update, we'll move on knowing everything will be ok, and lastly to you, my friends on YT, thank you for your concern and words of encouragement.......Mike in Exeter Ontario

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
