Putter: So you were a bit skeptical. Nice to know I turned you into a believer. There is actually only one good reason to turn a 6 volt Farmall into a 12 volt Farmall. That being if you want to run a 12 volt motor off your electrical system. Every 4 cylinder gas Farmall that was ever manufactured as 6 volt will start 6 volt in Alaska or Syberia year-a-round. I will whole heartedly go along with changing to an alternator, but keep it a 6 volt alternator. If you question what I am saying go to your computer search and type in ( 6 volt alternator ) an excellent site.
