I am rebuilding an M Farmall engine. My 8060 head turned out to be cracked. In trying to find another one, I learned that it is common for these heads to crack. To shave some off of one, I wouldn't unless it has untrue flatness and needed to be trued up. I think I have found a good used one, haven't picked it up yet but the guy thinks its O.K. . Hopefully I can end my search for a good one after I pick it up. It would cost around $400 to fix my old one. I believe I would lean toward not shaving. Just my 2 cents.
