Started to service the old M.D. In the manual It says to add oil to the pump if need be by cracking the oil cock valve on the pump and seeing if oil comes out. Well on My 1948 M.D The oil filler is to the front of the pump unlike the one in the book that shows it to the rear. When I cracked the cock valve it appears that diesil fuel comes out of it instead of oil. Wondering what is up with that? Never having checked the oil level before I would assume oil(same as in the engine)would have come out of the check level cock because it says to add oil. Any help much appreciated---------
