There are different levels of degree's in FFA for members to work towards. There are: Greenhand,
Chapter, Iowa (the state I'm from, each state puts it's own name in here)and National.
There are different requirements to receive these degrees. To even be in the running to get one you must have an SAE (Supervised Agriculture Experience, fancing term for project) and you must make a certain amount of money with your SAE or spend a certain amount of time on it. Accurate records must be kept. My SAE is Ag mechanincs, repair and restoration so my project is working on tractors. I have received the first 2 degrees and am working on my Iowa Degree. Your SAE is one of several requirements for the degrees. Other kids restoring them for FFA might be doing it to enter them into restoration contest.

I go to a smaller school where there is between 350-400 kids in HS in which 98 of them are in FFA. There is a large number of females in it nation wide. 5 of our 6 officers are females. We are a very active chapter and FFA is a big part o the community.
