Wrong. Firecrater pistons are an original IH part, available ONLY through IH dealers, still available today. Check out cngco.com under antique IH parts to buy the firecraters. Step heads have been available from different manufacturers, TISCO has them and so does Pow'r Seal - which I used to rebuild my H. M&W also made a step-head design which they called Turbo Dome. Here are the various pictures: This is the M&W Turbo Dome from an M.
This is an IH Fire Crater piston from an M.
This is a generic step head piston, the name cast into it is "Conformatic" they have been around for quite a while.
