Well my PD-40 is finally running, after a 6 month search for injection pump parts. Now we're getting to some the the less critical items. Who can tell me about the thermostat on these engines? The parts list says it has one, and it would have to since it has a water pump and it would never warm up without one. Mine is missing, though, and I can't tell where it is supposed to go. The upper water elbow out of the engine doesn't have a groove or anything for it to mount into. There is a casting boss about 1" inside the water outlet hole in the engine block so it can't go in there, or if it does, the guts would have to extend out into the elbow. I have had no luck finding a NOS thermostat, is it the same as the one for an H or M? Has anybody crossed this to a NAPA number? Any and all help is appreciated, thanks, boy does that old long-stroke diesel sound cool when it's idling...... Brian
