Gentleman, I need some help! Today I went to haul a load of manure with my H, backed up 3' and the tractor quickly wanted to jackknife. Looked at my front tires (narrow front) and they were cocked all the way to the side. I turned steering wheel but no tire movement at all. This is where I am at. I removed the hood and nose piece. I took off the cover for the sector gear. The worm was unscrewed from the half round gear so I re-threaded it back on. I turned the steering shaft but still no movement at tires. The pivot shaft that goes up to the half round gear does turn. I began jacking up the tractor and the (not sure what this is called) "lower bolster" began coming out of the heavy cast piece. The tires stayed on the ground. If I continue to raise the tractor it looks like this lower part will fall right out. My questions are what happened to cause no steering? What holds the lower part into the casting from just falling out? Does anyone have any pictures of this or diagrams? My books don't show much. I'm going to go back out and have a better look. Thanks in advance!
