In days past I have been a true scrounger and I have built a number of buildings. Before you design the building and prepare the base determine what you have available as raw material. Get the plans for a basic Morton building as they have the method to get the most building for the least amount of money. Instead of poles get warped(discounted as much as 50%) treated 2x6 from a lumber yard. These are to be fabricated as per Morton's design for the in ground supports. Go to a truss manufacturer and ask what he has that is screwed up. These can be had for their cost of material or less and they are buying wholesale. For a shed, floor trusses can be used for roofing trusses and either type can be used on the sides. Roof trusses can be installed upside down if you want a single pitch slant roof. Go to a metal building supplier and ask what he has surplus. Error cut pieces can be had at 1/2 price, forget about what color the material is, you can paint the finished building. Contact a door installer and let him know you want a take down. Often to satisfy a potential owner garage doors on new homes are switched. I had access this past week to 6 new old stock doors at 1/3 normal price. I think you should be getting the idea by now. Let your imagination run wild, I once helped a man build a huge building and the framework for the sides were made from 3 cents per pound rectangular commercial air compressor bases welded together. Another neat trick is to get used/surplus/obsolete pallet racking and assemble two parallel rows the width of the desired building. Fasten trusses across the top of the racking and metal siding to the outersides. You now have a building with built in storage on two sides. If you position the racking in a four sided configuration you with have a complete building. If any of this is interesting and you need more info just post an I will e mail you
