Dr. Evil: I am not suggesting the transmission rear end casting is the same. It will most definately be different on top end. My problems 25 years ago were the shift lever worn. Quick shifting from 3rd to 4th on the move. You know the rest of the story broken gears and a bent shaft. After taking it apart we found a bull gear and pinion marked up quite badly, I would say from an unrelated incident. I don't think the bull gear and pinion happened at same time as transmission. I never did buy that 300U parts tractor. I found a Farmall that had burned. Was the best buy as later I broke an axle. You can check the torque amplifier casting if you wish, I'm just going by what I was told. I wouldn't have put $0.05 in a Utility 45 years ago and I'm definately not going to spend money on any part of one now.
