So far: Friends tractor needs it for harvest season 300 gas row crop engine starts out cold shut off when warmed up....no restart Had IH guy put on new coil said the coil had built in resistor and didn't need the two wires going to starter solonoid. ??????????????? Engine started this morning with no choke @ 30 degreesF Ran unit on grain auger for 30 minutes, Wouldn't restart for next load. Got started by pulling with 4wd. Decided to let idle between loads. Engine started to run rough when ideling and helper decided to open throttle. Engine died and wouldn't restart. Pulled with 4wd turning about 1500 rpm finally started after about a 300 ft pull. After running Put tractor in gear when governor called for more fuel it stalled and wouldn't restart. Checked voltage at starter and coil when cranking 11.8 volts but still didn't seem to get spark ( did not test with wet fingers) If engine starts after sitting for days with no choke on a cold morning seems to me that it is getting excess fuel?????????????? 2nd wire is disconnected from starter solonoid. ??????? Where is the resistor????? Inside the coil??????????? Choke seems to be frozen...... can't pull choke. Is carb rebuild in order? PS: Tractor looks like it just came out of showroom.
