Dave: If my Buick where an isolated case I could may be agree with you. And yes irregardless I probably do owe Wayne an apology. My point is, and your right I didn't use a very good place to discuss the problem of new technology. I can however tell you of hundreds of cases of these computerized vehicles; trucks, cars and tractors; where by this new technology was suposed to be the answer to mankinds mobility problems. Much progress was made on engine design during the first half of the 20th century. My dad got 26 mpg with his 57 Chevy, as did many others. As of 2003 none of the full size sedans will do any better. There were tractors in the mid 60s far more fuel efficient than the new ones are. I know of a situation where a early 90s CaseIH wouldn't go in the most ideal gear for farmer to use on forage harvester. It would go in the next higher and next lower. A CaseIH technicain spent 72 hours in the field at farmers expence. They got it working 4 times and really never knew what made it work. None of the fixes were permenant, and a week later another tractor took its place. I can name you dozens of situations like this. I was getting a new water pump for my 140 awhile back at dealer. Customer beside me in line up said," your pump is original and from 140, we have a 12 year old CaseIH not much larger tractor, now on its 3 water pump. And every time it has happened tractor engine got hot." I could go on and on and probably fill all 14 pages of discussion. No dave it's far broader than my Buick.

Box Plow Blues - by Tom Schwarz. One of the first implements most tractor owners obtain is the box plow. For very little money, this piece of equipment promises to plow and flatten any hill or vale on your ranch road or farm. At least that's what I thought! As simple as a box plow appears, it can be rather challenging to make work correctly. In our sandy soils of Florida, traction is king. You can never have wide enough tires or heavy enough weights to get all the traction you want … unless you own a monster tractor. U
