Every ones response is very good. I just wanted to add a note on the white smoke. I would change the oil and see if it is milky like when it drains. Usually white smoke is a indication your head gasket is bad or you have a cracked engine part. Try to run your tractor as little as possible until you know more about the engine. It may save you from having a more costly failure. Don't let me scare you. I bought my 5th H today. The last one I fixed should have been an organ donor. I just can't let them die:)
