I read an article in the Red Power magazine, that basically said the Farmall F12 was one of the first tractors targeted for the one man farm. Consequently it was designed to be compatible with the horse drawn equipment which the farmer most likely already had. Hydraulic drawbar controls were not widely available until the Ford-Ferguson tractors came out years later. With that in mind, I was amazed to see a Hydraulic drawbar lift on an F12 sold at a local auction. Questions??? -Were hydraulics ever an option for the F12? -Could it be a retrofit from some later era? -Were they produced by IH? or were they aftermarket? -How common were they? -Are salvage Hydraulic units are available? If so, what would they be worth? -Did they have float control capability or strictly up / down
