Did you completely lose oil pressure, or what is exactly the deal on that? Apparently, you run the tractor with either no pressure or low pressure for damage to have been caused. Also, was the cam bearings put in right? They can be put in wrong so they don't get any oil. I would guess that bearings and perhaps even rings can be replaced with not a hole lot of expense. Hiring it done is where it gets expensive, so you could save alot of money doing it yourself. I would guess that fixing it up would be your best senerio whatever the case may be, especially if doing it yourself. Parting out would be an absolute last resort, especially with alot invested allready. I would only do that if there was a rod through the block or something. It is O.K. to butcher a horse that is dead. But your horse, is maybe down, but isn't dead yet. When parting out a tractor, you always wind up with a bone pile of parts that you will never sell (only for scrap iron). The profit margin on parting out an H is gained by buying those 2 or 3 hundred dollar tractors to part out. You have low dollar invested, but still have to factor in your time for messing with it. I would say that parting out is not your best way to go.
