I farmed for many years, and one item I learned some 40 years ago. If the machine or any of its major components arn't build in North America, don't buy it. That policy served me well over the years. I don't know where it leaves current or future generations. It used to be if you wanted better quality, you paid a bit more. Today that one is just a case of spending more, to enhance multi-national corperate profits. That was never more evident than right in the home. Remember all those apliances that lasted 40 years; fridges, toasters, etc. My wife has an electric can opener, she has used daily for 38 years.
