A couple of the respondents have suggested some company for the horse. In my case, I had one horse and then bought a goat to keep her company. The horse won't leave the goat voluntarily. When we take the horse out of the pasture and around the back of the milkhouse and she can't see the goat, she gets all bent out of shape. As soon as the goat catches up with us, the horse is happy. So maybe, just MAYBE, your horse would stay in a pen if there was a goat in there too. A male goat is a pretty low-cost solution if it works. The lady I bought my goat from said males are cheap because they don't give milk and they're stinky unless they're neutered. She said that most of them are killed and ground up for dog food. I got my goat from her, neutered and de-horned, for $38.00. He's really been a great pet, and he's tons of entertainment. Speaking of entertainment: Goat Owner: "I have a goat that was born without a nose." City Slicker: "A goat without a nose? How does he smell?" Goat Owner: "Awful!" See how much fun you can have? Goat to it! Just keep him out of the flowers and off the cars. Mark W.

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
