cattle and horse problem

A little off subject but I got myself in a heck of a fix and thought some of you guys could help. I have a small cow/calf herd that I have run now for several years. I ventured out this last fall and bought a horse to add to the farm. I put him in my winter cattle pasture (been vacant all summer) and kept him there untill now. I had originally planned to run him with cows when I brought them home for the winter off of the stock fields. I put horse in pen when I brought them home about 10 days ago. Thought I would let him get use to them a little before I turned him out. Got to thinking and decided to let some cows in with him a couple nights ago. Went good for a little bit and then he started running and biting at them. They got spooked and busted out of pen. I cut him off and left him penned up. The next day he jumped fence and chased cattle out of pasture after busting down gate. Lukily they just went to summer pasture (the gate was open there thank the lord). Penned horse back up this afternoon to see what he would do. Left for a little bit and when I came back he had gone over fense again. I really need to bring the cows back to the winter pasture. The only other place I got there is a small planked corale to put the horse in and it is small and that would only be a temperary place to have him. I could also put him in big summer pasture for the winter but that wouldn't be very convenient and don't know if he would stay there since it is not far away. Thought about hobbling him with the cows for awhile but I haven't had any experience in doing that. Of coarse I know the obviace solution (sale the horse) but do you all have any suggestions on running them together. I know it can be done. I think the horse is just playing (maybe getting to excited about it) but don't know how to cure the problem. The horse is 6 and never been around cows before.
