Have you checked your rear main seal for leakage? This particular tractor has been sitting, and it's been my experience that, once you start using a tractor that's been sitting for some time, you will find yourself with seal leakage problems, as they shrink and harden from not being coated regularly with lubricant in the due course of utility. My B-250 leaps like a hound off the leash on a scent when you begin to let out the clutch. The rear main seal leaks into the clutch housing, and causes chatter and grab. I don't use the tractor for anything other than tedding and harrowing, so it doesn't bother me too much, as, once I started, I usually wouldn't be stopping again til I was done a whole field. I want to rebuild the engine, and, at that time, the 250 will get the whole she-bang, if all's well; engine, clutch, pressure plate, release bearing, and maybe a 3rd gear, too, as it makes some noise. Anyhow, when you pull your inspection plate, check for oil leakage out of the rear main, and, if you see any, there's possibly some of your problem, but it may not have shown up until you tightened the clutch. Good luck. PS: B-250's are neat lil things, eh?

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
