The lift on my 1066 wouldn't go down a few years back. I took the top-link bracket off and found that an arm coming down from the rockshaft housing had slipped past a piece coming up from the bottom of the tractor. I bent a piece of 3/16 rod and reached in, hooked the top arm, and pulled it back (and around) the bottom piece. When I pulled on the top arm, the rockshaft cylinder dumped and the lift arms went down. After doing this several times one day, I took one of the arms out (can't remember which now), and welded a flat washer to the side to prevent the top arm from slipping around off. This seemed to do the trick - hasn't happened since. If this is the same trouble you're having, I may be able to remember some more details. Like I said, this happened several years ago! Just be sure you are out of the way of the lift arms when you pull the top arm back. Hope this helps, Mitch Sisson
