Jerry, It is pretty easy to replace the seal around the PTO shaft. When you get parts, they will be different than the original. You can replace the one seal with two seals that will fit in the same place. I parked the tractor so that the front of the tractor was downhill and that kept the oil from leaking out when I had the PTO apart to replace the seal. I think the entire procedure shouldn't take more than about 30 minutes. As for end play, I know there is some end play but I don't know how much is ok to have. Bob
