Jerry, You won't need to remove the PTO shaft to replace the seals. There is just a piece that you remove that has the seals held within it and it just slides off the end of the PTO. If it has the original seal in it, make sure to remove the entire thing as it has kind of a shell around the outside that must come out too. If you fail to remove this shell, you can't get the new seals in and can ruin the new seals trying to install them. I always recommend Kenneth Updike at Carter & Gruenwald to get your parts.
