300U hydrolics

I have a 300U that has been badly abused. The
hitch lift will lift but won't hold. The lever
for the valve was replaced by a pair of
vice grips. The handel must be pushed down to
raise the hitch, which seems backwards to me. I
disassembled the valve and found a broken spring.
I replaced that spring with as close a match as I
could find and it seemed to be ok but still didn't
work. The valve is located under the right side
of the seat. The book I got says it should be
next to the stearing wheel. Besides it's best
advice seems to be that it should be obvious
upon inspection.

Can anyone tell me if the direction of the lever
is correct or has someone reversed the hose
connections making it work backwards?
Does anyone know where I can get a rebuild kit or
at least parts? My experience with CASE and brake
parts tells me that that won't work!
Does anyone know where I can find a whole unit
(valve, regulator, and check valve)?
