a little bit disappointed....

I am a little disappointed in the response to my question about the pistons I got with my kit. I wondered how it compared to the IH firecrater piston - I knew it couldn't be the same, but maybe close. I searched the internet as much as possible for different kits and the same kits from different companies for the best prices. One person emailed me and said he could get me a TISCO kit for $587 with the step head pistons. I checked several different places in town here also and found everything to be more than $600. My last resort was to check with my local CaseIH parts dealer, he quoted $590 for the complete kit with crater-type pistons. I felt that this would be good to do business to help out the local guy. All of this is well and good and I am happy with the quality of my kit and have always been pleased with the brand names of products that came with the kit. The problem I have is that now I am hearing I paid about $200 too much and I could have got a better deal elsewhere. Where were you guys 2 months ago when I asked about engine kits? I highly value the advice given on this message board, but can't use advice that isn't given so I ended up with an overpriced kit I guess. Don't worry, my advice will still be here and I will always enjoy reading through all of the messages on this site. Steven
