3 point lift on Farmall C

Posted by Rexalot on May 23, 2007 at 22:18:12 from (205.245.255.230):

I saw a Farmall Super C on Ebay with a really slick 3 point hitch set-up. It used two flat links, hooked to the right and left lift arms fwd of the steering support, bent to clear around the operators platform. It looked liked the rear lift (rock shaft?) tube was replaced with an shaft that had a top link attach point and that allowed both sides to mount adjustable links to attach the lower lift arms to. I asked the seller who made the lift but he didn't know. He said he bought the tractor with it already installed in IA. It was painted black...

I've been looking at making a lift myself, but the hurdle is the rear lift shaft and how to make it where I can attach the connecting links, plus add the center link point. My other thought is finding a "fast hitch" from a later tractor, but I haven't done my research yet to see if that is feasible to try that.

I would probably pay money for one just like the one I saw, but I need to figure out who made it. Anybody else see that tractor? I still have the link to the auction, but it is closed now. Anybody know of a good "factory" looking lift?

I would like to find more uses for the C other than the occasional wagon or manure spreader chore. (The C's destined to be my "show" tractor... ) Having 3 point I could then use the current hay rake I own and maybe my back blade.

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
