What makes you think that truck is "chopped up" or "dead"" I see only see one defect: a missing grill louver that can probably be reproduced. IH built 1-ton Metros as did Divco and others. Most were 1/2 and 3/4 ton. Metros were available before WW2 and continued into the "70s. The earliest ones used the Green Diamond 6 cylinder flathead engine of 213 or 233 cubic inch. It was also used in the D, K, and KB series pickups thru 1.5 ton truck. Rated hp was around 75, considerably less than the Ford V8. It was probably OK for a Metro but totally inadequate for a 1.5 ton truck with a 17,500# GVW.
