"This is a 1964 International Harvester Metro Van. It is in pretty rough condition, with some rusted areas, a hole in the top where a ventilator fan is located, a large hole in the left side where the food was served, the original back door is missing, there is a chrome strip on the grill missing, and the inside was converted into a mobile kitchen. The truck does run pretty good, and tracks down the road well. It does need an exhaust manifold, or the original one repaired. The rear dual tires are in fair shape, and the fronts are in the same shape. The inside cab is rusty, and the seat is probably not the original. All in all, it's a pretty cool looking truck, but really needs someone to fix it up!"

The guy needs to be a bit more realistic. Not a collector item, lots of work and unkown problems in finding parts all with a starting bid of $1000. If he dropped a "0" off he might have a chance.

That being said it would be a fun toy once it was done.

"Once it was done" is the operative statement.

This would be a great project for "Overhaulin"

weird. It would take alot of work to get that thing restored since its been chopped up pretty good. It has duals in the back =)

What size motor do those things have?

For some reason I'm dpressed looking at that... Guess I'm just getting old and thinking of my own mortality. Hope someone buys it...

What makes you think that truck is "chopped up" or "dead""

I see only see one defect: a missing grill louver that can probably be reproduced.

IH built 1-ton Metros as did Divco and others. Most were 1/2 and 3/4 ton. Metros were available before WW2 and continued into the "70s. The earliest ones used the Green Diamond 6 cylinder flathead engine of 213 or 233 cubic inch. It was also used in the D, K, and KB series pickups thru 1.5 ton truck. Rated hp was around 75, considerably less than the Ford V8. It was probably OK for a Metro but totally inadequate for a 1.5 ton truck with a 17,500# GVW.

It might be fun to have a classic roach coach.
