I noticed this difference in Guy Fays originality guide. It is very apparant there where original pictures are on the same page with the brightly painted red machines using todays paints. I too would like to repaint my C using a closer color to original than most I have seen. It will be a working tractor, and I am not that concerned with the high gloss finish. (It will get scratched anyway) Besides I enjoy working it too much to let it set and look pretty. My 2 cents.
