I grew up using an "R" John Deere in Wisconsin where we farmed on some steep hillsides. When we filled silo with alfalfa in June, we could come to the end of the field with a chopper wagon fully loaded, turn downhill without a problem(the tractor would hold back the load). When IH came out with the "560", the "R" was traded in for one, and the first time we chopped on the same hillside, the loaded wagon was too much for the 560 to hold back and we almost lost it. The only moral to this story is that all the extra horse power and amenities the 560 had over the R, it was not enough to compesate for the extra weight the R had which helped make the situation a safe one as apposed to a life threatening one.
