The tach needle on my 240 dosen't move. the cable was unhooked for some time before I got the tractor, and the cable housing had some dirt inside, keeping the cable from turning. I pulled the cable out, cleaned everything out, and hooked it all back up. The cable turns smoothly inside the housing now, but the tach needle dosen't move. Haven't had it hooked up long enough to see if the hour counter works. Is it possible to rebuild a tach yourself? How much does Bates Corp. charge to rebuild these? Does a 240 have the same seat cusion and back as a 460? Do the Farmall and Utility versions of these tractors have different seats?
