the stamping numbers in the plate stand for the amount of advance in the distribitor.if you have a plate that is 30 and you put 10 in the inital set up you will have 40 total at full throttle, i have found most of the springs are way of,take thr dist to a guy with a machine and have him set it up,then you will no what you have.if you buy new spring,s from harvester i think they only sell one set,try 38 to 40 total and see how it works -- but remember if compresion goes up timong must come back.
