Dave, the shut off is at the sediment bowl and I'm not sure without looking which way it goes but straight up is off, and left is auxiliary and right is kerosene (or vice versa) The seat you describe does not sound like an original. H's had two styles of seats , the pipe with spring and a coil spring and shock absorber seat. I had both on my H's but picked up another pipe style seat because you can set the tension on them easily to suit the weight of the driver and the kind of ride you want to have by simple tightening the nut or loosening it on the top of the tension spring. I paid $1100 for one H with new tires all the way round and $650 for a rusty old H with decent rubber in southern Ontario. The Rusty $650 tractor is the best tractor, runs great,no oil burning, mechanically sound now that I replaced just about all the seals...when I get it painted it will be a piece. hope that answers your questions..Mike in Exeter Ontario
