As the others say, it's normal. Last fall I was using a Super 77 Oliver (I know, wrong board, but I have an H & a 300...) that I was running a 4 row corn stalk chopper with. Had the exhaust manifold, manifold pipe, mufler, and a bit of the top muffler pipe from cherry red to a strong dull red. Real fun thinking about those dry stalks flying all over the place.... That was a several hour workout for the poor 77, earned his keep that day. --->Paul
