Today, as I finished up bush hogging at dusk, I made a pass down beside a fencerow with my bush hog set real low. It was pretty thick with old grass and, with the throttle wide open, was giving the ’59, 140 a little bit of a work out. As it got darker, I noticed a 4” flame jumping out the top of the muffler. As it continued to get dark, I noticed the bottom chamber area of the muffler had a cherry glow to it. This is not normal, is it? I have not checked timing or point gap or plugs yet, as I have not received my manual. Anyone have suggestions on what to check first?
