Kurt - There is no road "gear" per se. 5th speed on these tractors simply has the input (clutch) shaft coupled directly to the output (differential drive) shaft. This is accomplished by a dog clutch that's part of the mainshaft 4th speed sliding gear. When the 4th speed gear is slid forward on the mainshaft it locks the input and output shafts together - no speed reduction occurs in the transmission. I presume your 5th gear doesn't work? Hard to tell in advance what the problem is/parts you might need. Suggest pulling the tranny deck (it's heavy!) then check for a worn/broken fork that works the 4th speed sliding gear. Also look for bad clutch teeth on front hub of the mainshaft sliding 4th gear and mating clutch teeth on the mainshaft.
